Invitation to join the Board of Big Brum TIE

Big Brum is looking for enthusiastic people to join our management committee, who are interested in supporting the company through a period of organisational development over the next 5-10 years.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are willing to share their skills and expertise to support the company through this current development period and beyond.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have knowledge and experience in the education sector and/or the arts sector. Knowledge and understanding of Birmingham and the West Midlands is also helpful.
Big Brum is committed to equality and diversity and holds all management committee meetings in accessible spaces. We will work with you to ensure that we meet any access needs you may have, so that you can fully participate in meetings and activities.

What do we want from our board?

The Big Brum management committee meet formally four times per year on a quarterly basis, with one of those meetings also incorporating an AGM. In addition we may ask you to attend occasional extraordinary meetings of the committee and sometimes also working sub-committee meetings to support a specific area of development. We will also ask you to support events (e.g. public performances) that the company organises.
We will send papers in advance of each meeting, that you will need to read and scrutinise, which will include minutes of previous meetings, financial papers, director’s reports, strategic policies and plans.
We hope that you will also be willing to represent Big Brum at key events, advocate for the company within your own networks, and support the company’s fundraising activity.
This is a voluntary role, as trustees of registered charities cannot be paid.
